Activate Your Credentials

You should have received an email with your username and LSUID (89-###-####). It may take 2-3 business days to arrive following your acceptance letter. Create a password and set up MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication). For assistance, contact LSU IT at 225-578-3375.

Complete the Online Orientation Course

Learn all about your online classroom by completing the Starting Strong course. You will log in with your LSU email and myLSU login information. For help navigating the myLSU applications, view this article. 

Understand Costs & Financial Aid

FAFSA Application › 

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed for each academic year you would like to receive aid. The code for LSU is 002010.

Accounting Services › 

For assistance with billing or payment plans, contact Accounting Services at 225-578-3357 or bursar@lsu.edu. Be certain to include your full name, student ID, and specify your status as an online student.

Meet with an Academic Advisor

Once admitted, you will be assigned an Academic Advisor who will be available to answer all of your questions or concerns. Your Student Success Coach cannot provide academic advising, but they will be available to assist you with enrolling in courses.

Enroll in Courses

Once you’ve completed Academic Advising, you are now ready to enroll in courses. You can view course offerings using the Schedule Booklet. Be sure to select a semester that has “module” in the title, indicating an online term. If you need more assistance, view this guide on scheduling or dropping courses.

Pay Fee Bill

Fee bills typically open four weeks prior to the start of each term. Be sure to go in and apply any aid or pay the balance and click the complete registration button to complete registration for your courses. For more details, click here.

Purchase Course Materials

Search for your course materials and obtain the required materials prior to the start of your classes.

Prepare for your Courses

To ensure you’re set up for success, prepare for important dates by viewing the Academic Calendar and selecting “LSU Online.” You can also contact your Instructor prior to the start of class by going to myLSU>Directory Information>LSU Directory and searching their name as (Last name, first initial).
