BATON ROUGE – LSU is expanding its collaborative partnership with the Institute of Certified Records Managers, or ICRM, an international certifying organization of and for professional records and information managers.

Now, students who earn an online graduate certificate in Records & Information Management from LSU can automatically apply and obtain the Certified Records Analyst, or CRA, designation. Additionally, these graduates will be eligible to waive the ICRM Certification Exam parts 1 to 5—putting them on the fast track to receive their Certified Records Manager, or CRM, designation.

“This partnership with ICRM allows our graduate certificate students an enhanced opportunity to qualify for jobs faster,” said Tao Jin, LSU School of Library & Information Science associate professor. “We are excited to be able to offer this unique program to a broader audience by going online which will, in turn, create more opportunity for CRA and CRM candidates and grow the field at large.”

Along with a personal enrollment concierge to guide them through the application process and a dedicated learner concierge to support them from program acceptance to graduation, online degree students will work with experienced faculty to prepare for lifelong careers. The application deadline for fall is October 5, with classes starting October 19.
